Achieve your mental health goals through counseling

CONNECT WITH OUR TEAM TO REACH YOUR PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL GOALS.

Curious how we can help? Please explore our services to understand what we offer.

Counseling

Counseling is a process in which you invite us to join you in clarifying your goals, getting curious about what is hindering your wellness, and finding ways to create the change you deserve. We all have valid reasons for how we developed our patterns and coping. What was necessary at one time suddenly doesn’t fit and can become limiting. Counseling is a chance to connect with someone who sees your worth, is ready to witness your story, trusts your inner wisdom, and is willing to be creative in finding your best way of working.

We offer counseling for individuals, and groups. We are committed to being inclusive, culturally sensitive and affirming of clients from all backgrounds, cultures, race, spiritual beliefs, gender identities and sexual/romantic orientations.

Some of the approaches we offer to facilitate your growth include:

MINDFULNESS

Bringing awareness to internal experiences of thoughts, emotions and physical sensations helps you better understand and respond to your needs. These activities can also help you move from distress to calm. Backed by science, mindfulness is a vital step in supporting your nervous system, brain and body. By practicing non-judgmental awareness, mindful movement or breath work you can cultivate well-being.

More on mindfulness here.

Expressive Art

Sometimes words aren’t enough, and you need freedom to express yourself in creative ways. Through various methods and materials, (sand tray therapy, painting, drawing, crafts, etc.), you can explore your experiences and gain insight. This creative process is free of judgment and does not depend on skill. Based on your comfort and openness, arts can be incorporated to further your progress.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) Your brain was made to heal but sometimes overwhelming experiences cause distress to get stuck. You find your present functioning negatively impacted by past experiences no matter how much you tell yourself it shouldn’t. EMDR helps unblock and process these experiences so that you can release your burdens and function better in your present.

IFS

IFS  (Internal family systems therapy) We all have aspects of ourselves that are caught in extreme or limiting patterns. IFS is a non- judgmental approach that allows you to develop a more curious and compassionate relationship with yourself. As you begin to explore different aspects of yourself (feelings, thoughts, beliefs, physical reactions, and behaviors) you gain understanding about how you have adapted to life’s challenges. You are then aided to unburden what is keeping you stuck and freed to respond to yourself and life in a more rewarding way.

Extended Sessions & Intensives

Have you ever felt the session ended just as you found momentum? Do you have a specific issue you would like to address in a focused way? Maybe you have a limited amount of time during which you can attend therapy and want to make the most of it. While 45 to 60 minutes is considered a standard “therapy hour”, longer session time can be more effective and efficient for some people and certain goals. The benefits of scheduling longer sessions (75 minutes to 2 hours) or therapy intensives (3 to 5 hours/day for 1 to 4 days at a time) include:

  • Less starts and stops in your processing
  • Intensely focused treatment plan
  • Reduced treatment time and disruptions in work/personal schedules
  • Reduced cost when goals are achieved in less time

Reach out to explore if extended sessions, or an EMDR therapy intensive would be a good fit for what you hope to address.
